I decided in fifth grade that I wanted to be a teacher, and ever since, I have striven to take advantage of every opportunity to become the best possible educator.

Teaching is a commitment to life-long learning.

Not only must a teacher remain up-to-date on research within the field of education, but they must also stay abreast on research within their individual field of expertise in order to provide students with the best possible education, teachers must remain up-to-date on research within their field.

Here you can find an accumulation of the work I have done to become the best possible teacher. They provide insight into reading, writing, and media literacy instruction, technology use, classroom management practices, and pedagogical theories.

Growing up with two educators as parents, I have learned to value education and have grown to be an advocate for equal education opportunity. Everyone should have the same opportunity to recieve a great education, regardless of their ascribed characteristics.

Ever since I began reading books, I have wanted to write them. Writing enables us to process and explore our world, as well as communicate our ideas across time and space. It builds connections between people who may never meet. I greatly enjoy writing short stories and fiction, and I have been published in on WhatAboutPeace.com and in Bullying Under Attack.

I believe in giving back to the local and international community and making my presence on this earth a positive one. Whether this means volunteering at a summer camp, immersing myself in a different culture, or just helping a friend in need, I believe everyone has the capacity to make some positive difference.

Long have you timidly waded holding a plank by the shore,

Now I will you to be a bold swimmer,

To jump off in the midst of the sea, rise again, nod to me, shout, and laughingly dash with your hair.
